Three children have been injured after an alleged attack by a man at a daycare centre in Switzerland.
The violent attack occurred shortly after midday in the Zurich’s northern Oerlikon district, according to a police statement.
Local news website Zueritoday reported that the incident was linked to a day-care facility for children, and worried parents were spotted rushing to the centre to find their children as news of the attack emerged.
Police said they have now arrested the man suspected of carrying out the ‘violent crime’, but there is currently no further details about the nature of the attack.
Zurich City Police said in a press release: ‘Shortly after twelve o’clock, the Zurich City Police were alerted to a violent crime on Berninastrasse. Three children were injured.
‘A suspect was arrested in connection with this.’
Police added there is ‘no longer any danger to the public’ in light of the arrest.
