Kim Soo-hyun will be facing the members of the press to personally address the controversies hounding him, including allegations of dating the late actress Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor.
Soo-hyun’s agency, GoldMedalist, announced the press conference that will be held on Monday, March 31, at 4:30 p.m. KST (3:30 p.m. Philippine time).
“First, we feel apologetic for having given you cause for concern through recent incidents. Therefore, we have prepared a conference where we can personally meet and speak to reporters,” the statement began, as per Korean media outlet Soompi.
“On this day, there will be an official statement made by our legal representative, the law firm LKB & Partners, and actor Kim Soo Hyun,” it added, although it noted that the actor will only deliver the prepared statement and that there will be no separate question-and-answer session.
Soo-hyun had initially denied he dated Sae-ron, then later admitted that they indeed had a relationship but noted that it started in 2019 when the late actress was already a “legal adult.”
Days prior to the announcement of the upcoming press conference, the lawyer of Sae-ron’s family released private text messages allegedly between the late actress and Soo-hyun. The pair’s conversation was said to have taken place in June 2016—when Sae-ron was about to turn 16 and Soo-hyun was 28.
Aside from the family of Sae-ron, the brother of late actress Sulli has also taken matters with Soo-hyun public as he demanded the actor to explain the filming of his and Sulli’s bedroom scene in their 2017 film “Real.”
Sulli’s brother cited claims that the late actress was “pressured into filming the bedroom and nude scene herself” when there was supposedly a body double present during the filming.
GoldMedalist, in response, said that they are “currently in the process of verifying the facts.”
