Hermès flip flops sandals review, try-on, sizing, comfort, worth it?
Hermès flip flops, specifically the Hermès island sandals are the minimalistic Hermes sandal with their iconic Chaine d’Ancre inspired straps. They’re perfect for summer, beach vacations and even transitional season outfits. Yes, they’re expensive but they’re a classic that will never go out of style. One of the things I like about these Hermès ladies sandals is that there’s no logo, hardware or print that’s going to date, so you can wear them year after year and they’re great if you prefer quiet luxury or minimalistic styles.

Hermès flip flop details
Hermès flip flops and the rubber Hermès Island sandals are made from Waterproof TPU. Making them as practical as they are stylish.
As you’d expect from Hermès, there’s so much attention for detail even when it comes to something as simple as these Hermès ladies sandals which are made in Italy.
The black rubber sole features the H logo on both the ball of the foot and heels.
The iconic Chaine d’Ancre inspired straps are substantial and can be worn 2 ways! Girl math tells me that’s a great investment! On the footbed it says Hermès, Paris.
Do Hermès sandals run true to size
Unlike some of the other Hermès ladies sandals, the Hermès Island sandals run small. So you may want to consider sizing up 1 full size or at least half a size. I went up a full size.
How to wear Hermès flip flops | The secret way to wear Hermès Island sandals that they don’t show on their website
My friend was actually the one who told me this. The rubber Hermès Island sandals can actually be worn 2 ways. Yes, as flip flops but also as slingback flats! Simply by rotating the center strap to go behind your heels. I actually find this way of wearing them really comfortable and a bit more supportive than wearing them as flip flops.
Hermès sandals outfit ideas
Flipflops used to be just for summer but they’ve been making appearances both on runways and the streets for Fall too. Try styling them with slouchy jeans and oversized sweaters or a sweater dress. They’re great for bridging the seasons and showing off your Fall pedicure.
If you’re like me and like to tie your outfit, brands and logos together. Look for other Chaine d’Ancre or Nauossa print pieces from Hermès. That’s how I ended up with the Hermès Gabi headband.
Are Hermès Island sandals comfortable
Some flip flops and sandals soles can be pretty thin and you feel everything. Whereas the sole on the Hermès Island sandals and all of their flip flops is pretty substantial while still being a lightweight pair of shoes.
Pretty much every review I read when doing research on these sandals said about how comfortable they are. They even have a padded footbed.
Like most shoes, I’d recommend breaking them in prior to wearing them for a really long period of time. So I’m going to wear mine around the house for a bit before wearing them out.

Hermes flip flops are expensive for a pair of rubber sandals so here’s my honest thoughts as they’re an expensive classic but are they worth it? As well as an unboxing, sizing tips, and how to style the Hermès Island sandals / Hermès flip flops 2 ways! As I’m all about getting the most wear and value out of my designer shoes.
