In view of farmers’ protest in the national capital on Monday, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police issued a traffic advisory for commuters.
The police said that due to the proposed protest by farmers in Delhi, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police and the Delhi Police would undertake intensive checking at the Noida-Delhi borders by putting up barricades and barriers, leading to increased traffic pressure on the route.
It urged the public to use Metro services to commute between Noida and Delhi.

The police said that to facilitate smooth traffic movement and address the current situation, traffic will be diverted. It said that all types of goods vehicles would be restricted on the route from Yamuna Expressway to Delhi via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and from Sirsa to Surajpur via Parichowk.
The police advised to use the alternate routes to avoid traffic inconvenience.
As per the advisory, vehicles going towards Greater Noida from Chilla Border will be able to reach their destination via Sector 14-A flyover, Golchakkar Chowk Sector-15, Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, Jhundpura Chowk.
Further, vehicles going to Delhi from DND border can reach their destination using the elevated route via Film City flyover through Sector-18. Vehicles coming from Kalindi Border will be able to reach their destination via Mahamaya flyover via Sector-37.
The advisory further said that the vehicles going from Greater Noida towards Delhi will be able to reach their destination via Charkha roundabout and Kalindi Kunj.
Vehicles going from Greater Noida to Delhi will be able to go towards their destination via Hajipur underpass towards Kalindi Kunj and from Sector-51 to Sector-60 via Model Town.
Vehicles going to Delhi using Yamuna Expressway will be able to get down from Jewar toll towards Khurja and reach its destination via Jahangirpur. Vehicles coming from Peripheral Expressway via Sirsa, Parichowk to Delhi will be able to reach its destination via Dadri, Dasna instead of getting down at Sirsa.
The police also issued a traffic helpline number 9971009001 in case of traffic inconvenience.
Meanwhile, farmer leader from Punjab Sarwan Singh Pandher on Sunday said a group of farmers, led by their leaders, will march towards Delhi on foot on December 6 even as he lashed out at the Centre for not holding any talks with the protesting farmers for resolving their issues, including a legal guarantee on the MSP.
Farmers under the banner of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) have been camping at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points between Punjab and Haryana since February 13, after their march to Delhi was stopped by security forces.
