Princess Eugenie has paid a touching tribute to her ‘special friend’ Michelle Trachtenberg following her tragic death at the age of 39.
The Gossip Girl and Buffy the Vampire Slayer star was found dead in her apartment on Wednesday following possible complications from a liver transplant.
Trachtenberg was a close friend of Eugenie’s with the pair bonding while the royal was living and working in New York in 2013.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram today, the late Queen’s granddaughter thanked Trachtenberg ‘for so many memories.
She wrote: ‘Goodbye special friend. You are so loved and missed.
‘Thank you for so many memories of laughter and fun. You were so thoughtful and generous and sooo funny.
‘My favourite was listening to you order food, always done with precision so you got exactly what we all wanted.


Michelle sparked concern with her final Instagram posts in recent weeks and months

Princess Eugenie’s and Trachtenberg’s friendship was first displayed in public in December 2013 at Madison Square Garden.
Sitting side-by-side, Eugenie and Michelle appeared deep in concentration as they watched a basketball game with one another.

Pictured alongside three other friends, Michelle and Eugenie stood next to each other while posing for the camera. Both were all smiles as they enjoyed their day out together.
With her arm around Eugenie, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star shared her affectionate nickname for the Duchess of York’s daughter, labelling her ‘my girl E’.
