Richard Gere has someone special in mind to join the next season of The Agency.
At the premiere of his new TV series, the actor, 75, was joined by his wife Alejandra Silva and his 24-year-old son Homer, whom he shares with ex Carey Lowell. Gere spoke with ET on the red carpet about how proud he is of his actor son, and how he’d love for him to join the next season of The Agency.
“I have a young actor that I’ve heard about who is really incredible. He’s standing next to you right now,” Gere jokes to the interviewer.

Asked how he feels about his father passing him the baton, Homer says “I’ll take it.”
“We have a lot more to talk about all of a sudden now that I’m acting. A lot of questions. He’s been great. He’s been a great confidante for this stuff. He has a lot to give,” Homer continues.
Gere goes on to rave about his son, saying that he’s been acting in a few student projects at the moment.
“He’s doing good. He’s done a lot of student films at Brown and NYU students, also. Southern Cal. He’s really good,” the proud dad says. “I’d have been just as happy if he wasn’t, and I’d say, ‘No. It’s really not for you.’ But he’s really good.”
Alongside Homer, Gere is dad to 5-year-old son Alexander and 4-year-old son James, whom he shares with wife Silva, and stepdad to Silva’s 11-year-old son Albert.
In April, the actor spoke with Vanity Fair Spain and opened up about how he’s moving his family to Spain, which is where Silva is from. In the article, which was originally written in Spanish, Gere shared that he hasn’t been watching many new movies since welcoming his younger sons.
“The truth is we don’t go out much. We have three small children. An 11-year-old, a 5-year-old, and a 4-year-old,” Gere told the outlet. “So around 9:30 at night, we are all asleep. If we watch something, it will be on the big television we have at home.”
Gere went on to share that he doesn’t typically go to premieres or watch his own films, adding that neither his wife nor his older son Homer have seen many of his movies.
“He doesn’t understand it,” Gere said when asked if his son understands that his dad is a star. “And it is also very difficult for him to see me on the screen because even if I play an extreme character, I am still his father and it is difficult for him to get into the story.”
“As it happens, he just started acting too. He has suddenly become interested and seems to enjoy it. He’s been writing and directing little movies, so we have this new thing in common.”
