After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Indian batters made full use of the powerplay by smashing 73 runs in the first six overs. Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma gave the side the perfect start as South Africa’s bowling attack struggled to start strong.
South Africa also has an additional concern with their pace-bowling all-rounder, Gerald Coetzee not being able to bowl after picking up a hamstring issue.
