Here’s What Trick Daddy Said About Not Identifying As African American
On Tuesday, November 12, The Shade Room reposted a clip initially obtained by Instagram user @livebitez. In the video, Trick Daddy told viewers, “I’m trying to figure out how ‘Afro’ get in front of my motherf*****g [inaudible].”
“I ain’t never been to Africa — never been there,” Trick said into the camera. “I’m not from Africa. I’m born and raised in [inaudible], Florida. I’m born in [inaudible] raised in the Liberty City projects. Ain’t never went to Africa and ain’t thinking about going there!”
As the clip continued, Trick Daddy explained that he’s “heard it’s a beautiful place” and “knows it’s the motherland.”
“But not my mother, not her mother, and not her mother’s mother,” he continued. “That ain’t their land. America’s real, true land is right here — in the U.S. soil.”

Tyrese Made Headlines After Saying He Wished He Was “Born Latino”
As The Shade Room previously reported, Tyrese turned heads earlier this year after making an interesting statement about himself and his ethnicity. In February, the singer took to Instagram to share a video of a Latino family gifting their loved one a car.
“Sometimes I wish I was born Latino…. I mean the Latin community is grounded in family, loyal, entrepreneurs, businessman, and women literally represent the dream, the grind the hustle doing whatever it takes to stick together against all odds…” he wrote in the caption of the video.
In addition, Tyrese went on to share why he believes the Black community has “lost its way,” soliciting a bunch of reactions from social media users.
