When it comes to styling leopard print shoes, they’re actually super versatile. Try reaching for them pretty much anytime you’re wearing a solid neutral like black, white or cream outfit and see how they work for you.
Leopard print shoes and outfits don’t just have to be sexy, they can be equally elegant. Look at celebrities like Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Kate Moss, Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth for styling and outfit inspiration.
Are leopard print shoes in style
Yes, leopard print shoes, in fact everything is trending for Fall/Winter 2024-2025. As seen at Alexander McQueen, Alaïa, Christian Dior, Isabel Marant, Versace, and Ganni’s Fall runway shows. As well as on Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna.
Google just revealed that, last month, searches for leopard print reached their second highest point since 2012. British Vogue November 2024.
How to wear leopard print shoes
A good place to start is by looking for pieces of clothing you own that complement the natural colors in leopard print like khaki, olive green, brown, rust, burgundy, gold, navy, or plum.
When it comes to jewelry, I find gold works better than silver jewelry with traditional color leopard print. As warm tones tend to work best with the warm tones in the print.
20 leopard print shoes outfit ideas
Leopard print shoes and heels are taking over and one of this season’s biggest fashion trends. Here’s lots of styling ideas and inspiration with 20 outfit ideas, and some do’s and don’ts to rock this hot footwear trend.
I’m wearing Sarah Flint leopard Perfect Pump 100 heels but pretty much any shoes, heels, flats or boots would work for most of these outfit ideas.
1. Wide leg jeans and a leather jacket
This is probably the most popular way to wear leopard print shoes and creates a good balance of ladylike and grunge.
2. Classic leopard print shoes outfit | Jeans and a t-shirt
A plain top rather than graphic styles will look more elegant. Whether that’s a neutral sweater, tank or t-shirt.
3. Bodysuit + jeans
Simple, classic styling lets your leopard print heels or shoots be the focal point.
4. Jeans + vest top
Vest and waistcoats are back in style and look great in black, white or beige with leopard print for an on trend way to style them this season.
5. Chic leopard print shoes outfit | Black matching coord set
Monochromatic outfits like black matching coord sets whether that’s a black blazer and black pants or black shorts. Shorts are also trending this season, just add tights for fall/winter and style them with a plain black top. You could skip the jacket but a black blazer elevates the look.
6. Monochromatic white blazer outfits
White shorts and a white blazer make for a crisp, polished outfit for the Spring and Summer that puts all of the attention on your fabulous shoes. This is one of those looks that works just as well with flats as it does leopard print high heels.
7. White pants/trousers
The darker colors of your leopard print shoes will pop against the bright white. It’s a look that’s fresh, modern and elegant.
8. Break up color
Instead of going with a monochromatic outfit, break it with a complimentary color like a white, burgundy or gold top.
9. Skinny jeans, white tee and blazer
You get the point. Basically any cut and color of jeans will work but skinny jeans are back in style. The fitted cut also allows more of your statement shoes to show.
10. Winter leopard print shoes | Sweater dress
A sweater dress of any length in a complementary color like plum, tan, black, navy or gold looks beautiful with leopard print heels or boots. If it’s cold just add tights or leggings and a jacket.
11. White shorts and white vest
For a fresh look for spring and summer that really lets your leopard print shoes be the focal point.
12. White wide leg pants and white vest
Playing around with proportions like fitted tops and wide bottoms creates interest and a flattering silouette. Stiletto leopard print heels keep it streamlined and create the most balance.
13. Summer leopard print shoes outfit | Neutral Slip dress
A neutral slip dress works for both the day and night. Whether it’s black, brown, gold, burgundy or another color that compliments the print. It’s an easy outfit to dress down in the day with flats or to glam up for the evening with gold accessories. To keep your slip dress on repeat as it gets colder, just layer a roll neck bodysuit underneath.
14. Comfortable leopard print shoes outfit | Khaki or beige romper
This is a cute look for warmer months or vacation. Keep it casual with leopard print flats or dress it up with some killer statement heels.
15. Cozy & feminine leopard print shoes outfit | Knit sets
I’ve also styled my stiletto leopard print heels with a 3 piece knit set before in a deep red with gold accessories. To keep it feminine and not frumpy go for a knit skirt and more fitted styles.
16. Black leather pants & black bodysuit
Leather pants, a sleek bodysuit and high heel leopard print shoes makes for a sexy outfit that’s also a little edgy. Keep it monochromatic or add some contrasting accessories.
17. Black leather pants and silky cami
To soften the rock vibe leather pants and leopard can give, add a pretty silk or satin camisole rather than a bodysuit to add texture.
18. Celebrity leopard print shoes outfit
Meghan Markle styled her leopard print heels with a navy button down mini dress. It’s not a color I’d thought of wearing with leopard print before but it worked really well and really drew attention to her shoes.
Meghan Markle’s leopard print heels are from the same brand I’m wearing, Sarah Flint just in a different style. Hers are the Perfect Emma, which has a two-inch inset block heel, a pointed toe, anatomical arch support, extra padding in the footbed, and a wider toe box so your toes don’t get squashed!
19. Work appropriate outfit
A modest, long sleeve mini dress that hits just above the knees keeps it feminine but elegant.
20. Double leopard
Wear head to leopard with caution. It can look fabulous or it can look like you’re headed straight out of the jungle and cheap. To make it work, go for matching sets rather than random leopard pieces.
21. Double denim leopard print shoes outfit
The same goes for double denim as for head to toe leopard. It can look fab when done right but make sure the washes match for the most cohesive, put together look.
What to avoid when styling leopard print shoes
When it comes to what not to wear with leopard print shoes and things to avoid there are no hard and fast rules. If you like the look wear it, but personally I avoid mixing too many other prints, if any, with leopard print shoes. It distracts from the shoes and can look a little chaotic.
