13 Going on 30 — The Musical is opening next year!

The upcoming stage show, based on the popular 2004 romantic comedy of the same name starring Jennifer Garner, will make its official debut in the U.K. on Sept. 21, 2025.

“Jenna Rink is an adorably awkward 13-year-old girl who wishes she could skip over the misery of high school,” reads an official synopsis of the show. “When her birthday wish comes true, Jenna magically wakes up as an adult to find herself ‘thirty, flirty and thriving’ as the editor of a fashion magazine with a seemingly perfect life.”

“But as she gradually unravels the mystery of what kind of person she has become, she goes on a journey to work out what — and who — really matters,” the synopsis adds.

13 Going on 30 — the Musical will be directed by Andy Fickman (Heathers: The Musical) from a book by Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa, who also co-wrote the original film.

“When we wrote the movie 13 Going on 30, we never dreamt that on the film’s 20th anniversary, we’d get the chance to see a whole new generation fall in love with Razzles and feel thirty, flirty, and thriving,” Goldsmith and Yuspa said in a statement. “It’s been a joy to work with ROYO, Revolution Studios, songwriters Alan Zachary & Michael Weiner, and director Andy Fickman to bring this story to life as a stage musical.”

The duo went on to say they “were thrilled by the audience’s response to our workshop last year, and now we can’t wait to officially open in Manchester at the legendary Opera House — the launchpad of so many iconic musicals.”

13 Going on 30 — The Musical is currently scheduled for a limited engagement at Manchester Opera House in Manchester, England, from Sept. 21 through Oct. 12, 2025.

Tickets will begin at $19.50, with casting being announced at a later date.

Alongside Garner, 52, as Jenna, the original Gary Winick-directed film starred Mark Ruffalo, Judy Greer, Jim Gaffigan, Andy Serkis and more, including Christa B. Allen as young Jenna.
