One of the ways to experience Australian Wines is to keep track of what the South Australian Wine Industry Association is up to. Wine Debut at the Adelaide Zoo, is one such event that introduces consumers to new releases from South Australian Wineries.
My friend, Jane Richards, who along with her sister Claire, is the owner of EightAtTheGate Wines from Wrattonbully. Jane and I met several years ago in India at the Australian Ambassador’s Residence in India where Indian tastemakers were being introduced to Australian Wines. At that moment in time, who knew that I would be moving to Australia, to the same city that Jane lives in!
And to top it all, who knew that I would be going to an Australian event, in Australia, to see Jane and her family show me how it’s done.
I’ve always loved Eight At The Gate wines, but I might be a bit partial to their delightful sparkling whites, especially in the crisp Spring weather that’s currently blessing Adelaide. Please scroll down to see some of my photographs from the lovely evening. The wines, the people, the Pelicans!

To give you an idea of how mesmerized I was with the Pelicans, I shot all the following images on my Pixel 9 Pro XL, despite having a DSLR slung over my shoulder, which I used to photograph the rest of the event by the way!
